There is a popular saying of the yorubas, to the effect that he that is capable of deep thoughts will be capable of giving gratitude. Chief Barr. Olusola Oke, is a grateful child of God, a proud citizen of Nigeria, a beloved son of Ondo State, a noble indigene of Ilaje and a choice leader of the People’s Democratic party and the populace for the position of Governor, Ondo State for a much needed change and development.
“In 2008, when i left for Abuja to take up the office of the National Legal Adviser of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), i left behind a working state, under the able leadership of His Excellency, Dr. Olusegun Agagu of the PDP. New roads and bridges where being constructed and many other areas hitherto unlinked where being connected; Education and Health Institutions, old and new, were recieving maximum attention, as the AAU Akungba enjoyed a new lease of life, while a new University was established at Okitipupa. Furthermore, water projects, electricity and other utilities were enjoying a pride of place. Sports was priortized and an olympic Standard Stadium was under construction at Akure. At the same time, Agriculture was revolutionized, becoming a haven for youths. The Youth-in-Agriculture Programme and other empowerment schemes of the PDP administration made Ondo State the reference point with UNDP and other donor agencies.
